I-Beam Weight Calculator User Guide
I-Beam steel is named for its I-shaped cross-section. It features excellent bending resistance, high load capacity, and easy installation. Widely used in factory buildings, bridges, equipment platforms, support structures, and construction load-bearing beams.
Supported I-Beam Types
- ✅ Standard Series (GB/T 706-2016):
- Standard I-Beam: Models like I10, I12, I16, I20a, I25b, I32c
- Light I-Beam: Same model with "Q" or "L" suffix (thinner web, lighter weight)
- ✅ Material: Q235B, Q355B Carbon Steel (density 7.85 g/cm³)
- ✅ Common Models: I10 ~ I63c, covering common engineering specifications
I-Beam Weight Formula
Weight (kg) = Section Area (cm²) × Length (m) × 0.785
Where:
- Section Area = h×t1 + 2×(b-t1)×t2
- 0.785 is the simplified density coefficient (7.85 g/cm³ ÷ 1000)
Common I-Beam Theoretical Weight Table (GB/T 706-2016, Q235B, Density 7.85 g/cm³)
